We are delighted to welcome you to the SALINARA community and look forward to sharing an unforgettable experience with you. Our aim is to provide every guest with a relaxing, inspiring, and memorable retreat, from your arrival to your departure.
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before making your booking. By confirming a reservation, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions, which form the agreement between you and SALINARA Società Cooperativa (“SSC”).
These Terms and Conditions apply to all workshops, retreats, and accommodation packages organized directly by SSC unless otherwise agreed in writing.
1. Booking & Contract
A booking is confirmed once SSC has received the completed booking form together with the required deposit or full payment.
The person making the booking confirms that they are authorised to accept these Terms and Conditions on behalf of all members of their party.
A binding contract between the Client and SSC is formed upon the earlier of:
- receipt of any payment by SSC; or
- the issue of a written booking confirmation.
2. Retreat Package
Unless otherwise stated, the retreat price includes:
- accommodation
- meals specified in the retreat programme
- workshop tuition
- local transfers included in the itinerary
The retreat price does not include:
- flights
- travel to and from Sicily
- travel insurance
- visas
- personal expenses
- optional excursions not specifically included
3. Booking, Deposits & Payment
A non-refundable deposit of €500 is required to secure your place.
The remaining balance is due 12 weeks before the retreat begins.
Bookings made within 12 weeks of arrival require full payment at the time of booking.
Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in cancellation of the booking.
4. Cancellation by the Client
Clients may exercise their statutory right of withdrawal within 14 days of booking where applicable under Italian consumer law.
After this period:
- the €500 deposit remains non-refundable;
- cancellations made more than 12 weeks before arrival receive a refund of all monies paid excluding the deposit;
- cancellations made within 12 weeks receive no refund.
Approved refunds are subject to a 3% payment processing fee.
5. Cancellation by SSC
If SSC cancels a retreat, Clients will receive a full refund of all monies paid, including the deposit.
SSC’s liability is limited exclusively to the retreat fees paid directly to SSC.
SSC cannot reimburse:
- airline tickets
- travel insurance
- visa costs
- accommodation booked independently
- any third-party expenses.
6. Minimum Participant Numbers
Some retreats require a minimum number of participants.
Should this minimum not be reached, SSC reserves the right to cancel the retreat and will refund all payments received or, where possible, offer an alternative retreat.
7. Instructor Substitution
SALINARA carefully selects every instructor.
Should illness or unforeseen circumstances prevent an instructor from attending, SSC reserves the right to appoint an equally qualified replacement.
Such substitutions do not constitute grounds for cancellation or refund.
8. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended and should include cover for:
- cancelled flights
- missed connections
- medical expenses
- personal belongings
- cancellation costs
- civil unrest
- natural disasters
- “Cancel For Any Reason” cover where available.
9. Travel Disruption
Flight delays, airline strikes, airport closures, government restrictions, or similar events affecting individual Clients do not entitle the Client to a refund if the retreat operates as scheduled.
SSC will always endeavour to assist wherever reasonably possible.
10. Transfers
Complimentary transfers are provided on the official arrival and departure days and throughout the retreat for scheduled activities.
Private transfers outside these times may be arranged for an additional charge.
11. Guest Responsibilities
Clients agree to:
- respect fellow guests
- follow reasonable instructions given by SSC staff
- comply with local laws
- behave respectfully at all times.
SSC reserves the right to terminate the participation of any guest whose behaviour is abusive, dangerous, or disruptive without refund.
12. Health & Fitness
Clients are responsible for ensuring that they are physically fit to participate.
Any relevant medical conditions, allergies, dietary requirements, or mobility issues should be communicated before arrival.
SSC reserves the right to refuse participation in activities where safety could be compromised.
13. Property
Clients must take reasonable care of the accommodation and its contents.
Damage caused through negligence or misuse may be charged to the Client.
Normal wear and tear is excluded.
14. Smoking
Smoking is prohibited inside all accommodation and indoor communal areas.
Smoking is permitted only in designated outdoor areas.
15. Personal Belongings
Clients remain responsible for their own personal belongings throughout the retreat.
SSC accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage unless caused directly by SSC’s negligence.
16. Photography & Media
SSC may occasionally photograph or film retreat activities for promotional purposes.
Clients who prefer not to appear in photographs or videos should notify SSC in writing before the retreat begins.
17. Force Majeure
SSC shall not be liable for cancellations, delays, or alterations resulting from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- war
- terrorism
- civil unrest
- pandemics
- natural disasters
- fire
- floods
- earthquakes
- severe weather
- government restrictions
- airport or airspace closures.
18. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Italian law.
Any dispute arising from these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Italy.
19. Special Events
Different booking conditions may apply to exclusive retreats, private group bookings, weddings, corporate events, or other special occasions.
Where applicable, these conditions will be communicated before booking.
