Plein Air painting retreat. A Greek Odyssey.
Come on the enchanting Greek island of Milos, enjoy a masterful tuition by Keiko Tanabe, subject matters will be landscape, Mediterranean seascape, old historic village scape, people.
The most stunning scenery in the world, it is also the island where the famous Venus de Milo was discovered.
We will fly from Athens to Milos and spend a glorious week exploring this fabulous gem in the Aegean Sea, painting in the mornings and relaxing, sightseeing and painting in the afternoons.
The participants will benefit from daily one-on-one guidance and a group critique with Keiko.
Her workshop is designed for all painters both amateurs and more accomplished.
You can expect to learn about composition, how to capture lights and atmosphere, methods and techniques of creative process, wet-in-wet and dry brushstrokes, with a generous tuition and personalized attention. An authentic opportunity to paint and create in a relaxed and friendly environment and in idyllic settings with professional artist.
At the last day of workshop, each participant will have a final critique from Keiko.
In the evenings you will enjoy meals at typical taverna selected by us.
Our hosts will be the team from Salinara, well experienced in running painting holidays in Sicily and Greece. They will organise our accommodation, breakfasts and dinners. Anyone who has been to their Salinara retreats knows the love and care they lavish on their food! We will make our own choices for lunch from the wealth of cafes and restaurants on location.
They will also provide transport to and from Milos airport and to our daily outings and be on hand for any requirements we may have.

She was born in Kyoto, Japan. As a child growing up in an art-loving family, she always enjoyed drawing and painting and won many awards in children’s art contests. However, art was not her chosen field of study later on. She earned a B.A. in intercultural communication (International Christian University, Tokyo, Japan) and an M.A. in international education (UCLA, California).
Her paintings have been juried into many exhibitions across North America and in Asia. Her work has been purchased by private collectors from all around the world.
Keiko Tanabe fortunately not only paints great watercolors but also teaches her technique in multiple workshops.

The course is conducted in English, with translation into Italian, French, Spanish and Japanese on demand.
